Do you feel the call of the woods? Their deep myst

Do you feel the call of the woods? Their deep mystery, their silent power, their sacred vigil.

I hear this call when I am disconnected, lonely and looking for meaning. The woods always bring me back and I remember that I have walked eternally among trees. Getting lost and found within the labyrinthine pathways of the forest floors.

In the woods that surround my life in Northern Thailand, many of the trees are cloaked in orange robes. The monks have ordained them, acknowledging their sovereignty.

When I sit in meditation, these be-robed trees often float into my consciousness. They appear as a reminder to ordain each moment, as it rises and falls. When I drop my judgement, my expectation, I recognise the sacred truth of each moment. As I merge into it and emerge out of it. When we ordain each moment, we ordain the entire world with our loving awareness.

The woods are always there, at the edge of our minds. May the woods bring you back to the core of your experience. They are, after all, our first home.

I've been dedicating my sadhana to Shiva and Ganes

I've been dedicating my sadhana to Shiva and Ganesha for the last two months and it has been a beautiful space of support, revelation and truth.

Ganesha, holding the ground for me to arrive in my imperfect practice, continually opening the gate for me every day as I come and sit morning after morning. Shiva, always there, waiting for me to slip into the place where the unknown becomes known, where I dissolve, where his embrace becomes as big as the universe,

And then today I found this card, with these beautiful anthropomorphic depictions of them both and it was like seeing my friends in a movie. Oh look! There they are! It made me so happy, and excited, to remember how they have brought graceful presence and meaning to so many for so long. To see them here in their eternal dance of liberation, I can feel the music too.

So now this picture of them, this dance, will live on my alter too.

Soltan and I met two years ago in Lesbos, when I was teaching yoga there. Soltan, who is from Afghanistan, had just arrived. He'd never practiced yoga. He didn't speak English. But, he showed up for class everyday.

Since then, since Moria has burnt down, since the situation has escalated beyond belief, since Afghanistan has become even less safe than it was, since the refugee crisis has worsened more than I ever could have imagined... Soltan has also learnt English and trained as a yoga teacher.

Soltan's story always reminds me there is love, and growth, and life, in even the darkest of places.

But, Soltan's asylum application has also just been refused. So, after waiting for two years, he now needs to go to Athens to try to get money to help save his case.

This Sunday's class is about raising money to help him do this. It's about being a good friend. It's about showing up, in whatever small way we can, to show we care about what's happening to people on the borders of Europe. It's about yoga, love, and friendship.

These images include:

- YOUR DREAMS. Write down your dreams, even if it is JUST the defining image of the dream. Paint your dreams. Know your dreams. Ritualise your dreams. Digest your dreams.

- the symbols you notice and remember throughout your day. That which resonates. Whether it's from an advert, a magazine, a cloud.

- what images is nature gifting you? So often we receive sacred wisdom in the symbols that nature reveals to us: a leaf falling on a book, a bird outside your window, a tree bending towards the earth.

- Everything you read, watch and listen to that sets your soul alight. For me it's absolutely everything in Middle Earth.

- Poetry, lyrics, script. Anything and everything working with metaphor.

Learn the language of the psyche.

The capacity to digest images is our capacity to feed the soul. Is your soul hungry? What is it hungry for?

When we can digest our images, we individuate. We can be alone.
